The Colon Wellness Center at Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center

Colon cancer, the second leading cancer killer of both men and women, is preventable. The removal of benign polyps prevents cancer from starting. Early detection of already formed colon cancer improves survival rates.

Everyone should have a colon cancer screening beginning at age 50, and earlier if there is a family history of the disease. Colonoscopy is considered the "gold standard of care" for colon cancer screening as the entire colon is examined and over 90% of growths in the colon will be detected.

The Colon Wellness Center performs colonoscopies annually in a safe and comforting environment. It is the most experienced and one of the largest in the tri-state area. Highly skilled board-certified colon-rectal surgeons and gastroenterologists work with a staff including board-certified gastroenterology registered nurses, and trained GI technicians. The Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health.

Colon cancer is preventable and beatable.
