Barnabas Health Foundation, established in 2000, is a registered 501(c) (3) not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to nurturing philanthropic support for the programs and services of Barnabas Health, New Jersey’s largest integrated health care delivery system.

About the Barnabas Health Foundation

  • Who We Are

Philanthropic support is sought from individual donors, private and corporate foundations, New Jersey businesses and the federal and state governments to ensure that continued quality and excellence in patient care are available for all New Jersey residents.

The Barnabas Health Foundation also provides integrated governance for all the affiliate foundations by monitoring, enhancing, providing oversight and management for all affiliate philanthropic fundraising activities within Barnabas Health, as well as System out-patient centers, long term care facilities and its state-wide network of behavioral health programs.

Barnabas Health's Foundation’s Federal Tax ID number (also known as Employee Identification Number or IN) is # 22-3769036. All gifts are tax-deductible as provided by law.

Since its inception, the Barnabas Health Foundation has played an integral role in working with its community to secure needed funding and sponsorship support to underwrite important System projects.

As New Jersey’s health care leader, the System depends on the generosity of individuals, private and corporate foundations, state and federal government support to assist us in providing the quality skilled and compassionate clinical care to the more than 2 million patients we serve each year.

The Barnabas Health Foundation seeks funding support from private and corporate foundations, state and federal Governments and individual donors for System programs which currently include: Patient Quality and Safety Initiatives, Disaster Preparedness, Behavioral Health, Kidney Transplant education and community awareness, the Multiple Sclerosis Program, Newborn Screening, Jewish Genetic Disease Programs, system wide clinical programs and services, community outreach and capital needs, to name just a few.

  • Gifts of all sizes are needed and deeply appreciated at Barnabas Health. Here's what you can expect as a donor:


    We will use your gift wisely to ensure the highest standard of care for all patients throughout the System. You can designate your gift to be directed to one of the affiliate hospitals, to patient care, for education programs, etc. You can be confident that your gift will be used according to your intentions.


    Upon receipt of your gift, we will send you an acknowledgement expressing our thanks. The acknowledgement documents your gift and serves as your tax receipt. Your gift is tax-deductible as provided by law.


    We respect the wishes of donors who choose to remain anonymous.


    Barnabas Health produces publications detailing the innovations in clinical care, education and services that are funded with the support of our generous benefactors and partners.


    As an expression of gratitude, Barnabas Health acknowledges all gifts and offers a variety of donor naming opportunities and benefits.

It is the policy of the Foundations of Barnabas Health that 5% of restricted gifts and up to 10% of special events revenue is allocated for unrestricted purposes which may include administrative and operational expenses.
