Gladys Z Gladys Zakar's Patient Story

"You never know when illness or injury may affect you or a loved one. When it does, having the best care, close to home is invaluable."

Community Medical Center saved my husband’s life…twice.

We always knew that CMC was convenient, close and provided wonderful care, but the hospital really gained our trust five years ago when my husband, Tom, suffered a fractured cardiovascular stent. It was discovered and repaired in the Cath Lab at Community Medical Center. This was the first time the team saved my husband’s life.

Two years ago on Father’s Day, we were out with our grandson when Tom felt heaviness in his chest. I wasted no time bringing him to the Emergency Department at Community. The team got to work immediately, addressing his condition and getting him out of distress. By the time I parked the car, he was already on his way to the Cath Lab. They saved his life again!

The Emergency Department at Community Medical Center is one of the busiest in New Jersey –caring for children, adults and seniors. However, we have never felt like just a number there.

Community Medical Center is our hospital. It exists to serve the community – our family, friends, and neighbors – and provide the highest quality, compassionate care. I can say with certainty I am glad Community Medical Center is here for my family!

Not only is my husband a grateful patient, I have worked at Community Medical Center for 24 years. Even though I see them every day, I did not fully comprehend what an incredible team I have the honor of working with until I watched them in action treating my husband. I could not be more grateful.
