    Christina Gillespie, MD is an assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She is a comprehensive otolaryngologist providing high quality care for varied ENT problems for patients of all ages. She is board certified with over 20 years of clinical experience. Dr Gillespie diagnoses and treats a wide variety of diseases and problems that can affect the ear, nose and throat. Areas of interest include pediatric otolaryngology, general otolaryngology, hearing and balance disorders, sleep apnea, allergy, sinus problems, sinus surgery, voice problems, feeding and swallowing problems. Dr Gillespie sees patients of all ages from newborns to the elderly. Her surgical interests include ear tube placement, tonsillectomy, sinus surgery, septoplasty, and other surgeries.

    Dr Gillespie graduated with a degree in Biology from Yale University and a medical degree from New York Medical College. She then joined the US Army. She completed her Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC. Upon graduation, she was stationed at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. She was the Chief of the Otolaryngology Service for 8 years. She helped lead as the department grew and expanded to meet the demands of the Global War on Terrorism. She served in the Army for 14 years, taking care of soldiers and their families. She has particular expertise in ENT issues that affect soldiers and veterans such as noise induced hearing loss, acoustic trauma, and battlefield injuries. She was awarded various medals during her time in service to include the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, The Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon. Upon receiving an honorable discharge, Dr Gillespie then re located to New Jersey. She then worked in private practice for 8 years before joining Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Her current practice location is in Toms River. She also provides otolaryngology services to Community Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus.

    Besides being a full-time clinician, Dr Gillespie has been active at the national level in the American Academy of Otolaryngology for several years. She is an active member in the Board of Governors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology. She regularly attended the annual Board of Governors meeting. She has served as a member for years now on the BOG Governance & Society Engagement Committee. She was also recently appointed to BOG Legislative Affairs Committee. She is also serving on the Practice Management Education Committee which is subcommittee of Education Committee and helps create, curate, and publish educational material for the use of members on the business of otolaryngology. An expert on telemedicine, Dr Gillespie recently co-authored an article with Lance Manning titled E-Health and Telemedicine in Otolaryngology: Risks and Rewards published in the Otolaryngologic Clinics of North Am. 2022 Feb;55(1):145-151.
