Dr. Mark Gilder received his BS from Emory University in 1983. In 1987,
he obtained his medical degree from New York Medical College. Dr. Gilder
completed his surgical internship and residency at North Shore University
Hospital in 1992. In 1993, he completed his fellowship in Colon &
Rectal Surgery at Saint Francis Medical Center affiliated with University
of Connecticut. He joined Associates in Colon & Rectal Diseases in
Dr. Gilder is board certified in General Surgery and Colon & Rectal
Surgery. He is a member of numerous national societies in General Surgery
and Colon & Rectal Surgery. He is past president of the New Jersey
Colon & Rectal Society. He is a Fellow of the American College of
Surgeons along with the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons.
He has also served as Chairman of the Division of Colon & Rectal Surgery
at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
Dr. Gilder has served as a consultant for surgical instrument manufacturers.
He is highly skilled in endoscopy and has performed thousands of colonoscopies.
His expertise is minimally invasive intestinal surgery, therapeutic high-risk
colonoscopy, endorectal ultrasound, and anorectal surgery. He remains
an active clinical instructor at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
Dr. Gilder’s honors include being named to “Castle Connolly
Top Doctors New York Metro Area” in 2007 and “New York Magazine
Best Doctors” in 2008. Recently, he was named to “Inside Jersey”
magazine 2009 Top Doctors Issue.
His interests include spending time with his wife and two daughters along
with golf and skiing.
Dr. Gilder is a recipient of the 2014 NJ monthly Top Docs award.
