Affiliations Bio Dr. Hinfey grew up in Matawan, NJ. He attended Ithaca College as an undergraduate and is a graduate of the New Jersey Medical School here in Newark, NJ. After graduation, he completed an internal medicine internship at University Hospital in Newark, NJ, followed by emergency medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, serving as Chief Resident his senior year. Dr. Hinfey then moved back to Newark where he has been involved in the Emergency Medicine Residency at NBI since 2002, and has been the Program Director since 2012. He lives with his wife, Yvonne, and 3 children in the area. His interests include airway management, cardiovascular emergencies, resident education, and wilderness medicine.
