    SongEun Lee, M.D. PhD. attended medical school at the University of Ulsan College of Medicine in Seoul, Korea where she was appointed Graduate with Honor, conferred the prestigious Korean Medical Association Award and granted the University of Ulsan Scholarship for Academic Excellence. Continuing her studies at the University of Ulsan, Dr. Lee earned her PhD in Visual Sciences. Dr. Lee completed a residency in ophthalmology at the Asan Medical Center in Seoul, where she went on to complete a Vitreoretinal Fellowship. After deciding to make the United States the home for herself and family, Dr. Lee completed a residency in ophthalmology at the Harkness Eye Institute at Columbia University. After finishing her residency, Dr. Lee was invited to remain at Columbia University where she went on to complete a Vitreoretinal Fellowship under the mentorship of Doctors Stanley Chang, William Schiff and Lawrence Yannuzzi. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists.
