    Frederic Sardari, MD, Vice Chair of Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery

    Dr. Sardari ‘s current position is Vice Chairman of the department of Cardiothoracic Surgery. He is an attending surgeon at both Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. He is also Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the New Jersey Medical School Rutgers. His areas of expertise include: Complex and re-operative cardiac surgery, Beating Heart Bypass surgery, All-arterial Revascularization, Valve Repair, and surgical treatment of Atrial Fibrillation.

    Dr. Sardari has been involved in overseas medical missions for many years. He has lectured and performed surgery in Latin America, China, and the Middle East.

    Dr. Sardari was Associate Staff Surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery in Ohio prior to joining the Barnabas Health Heart Centers. He received his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine, Washington, DC; and he completed his residency in cardiothoracic surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda, California. He is board certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery; and he is co-author of numerous articles published in professional publications such as the Annals of Thoracic Surgery, the Journal of Cardiac Surgery, the Journal of Heart Disease, and American Surgeon.
