    Physician Information

    Dr. Minal Vazirani is a dual-board certified internist and pediatrician, making her qualified to treat everyone from infants to adults. She is also certified in Integrative Holistic Medicine. Dr. Vazirani has trained in both conventional and alternative medical theory and practice, and offers patients an innovative, comprehensive, holistic, and progressive approach to care.

    Dr. Vazirani received her bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey and received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey—New Jersey Medical School (UMDNJ-NJMS). She completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Good Samaritan Hospital and Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Arizona. Dr. Vazirani was selected to participate in many integrative leadership and educational opportunities throughout her training, and has had the privilege of being mentored by many well renowned pioneers and experts in the field of integrative medicine. She is also one of only a handful of physicians in the U.S. who has completed an academia-based clinical assessment program in Ayurvedic Medicine. She continues to travel to India frequently to further her expertise in Ayurvedic Medicine.

    Dr. Vazirani lectures and writes, and also teaches at UMDNJ’s Institute for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (ICAM). She is currently a coinvestigator in a study evaluating the effectiveness of Yoga for adolescents with IBD. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award and the Caught in the Act of Caring Award.

    Dr. Vazirani is passionate about helping people achieve their goals by optimizing their health and is committed to being a part of the paradigm shift that involves changing the focus in medicine to a health-based as opposed to a disease-based system, with an emphasis on patient education, empowerment, and self-care. She effectively combines her expertise in Allopathic Medicine with her proficiency in Ayurveda and other Integrative Wellness Approaches to develop custom-tailored lifestyle prescriptions for her patients. Dr. Vazirani is happy to partner with individuals and their families to provide individualized integrative consultations for safe, holistic approaches for their unique needs and health optimization on their healing journeys, and to serve as a resource to community physicians.
