Roh Yanagida, MD, Ph.D., Cardiothoracic Surgeon, was recently named Surgical Director of the Barnabas Health Advanced Lung Disease and Transplant Program at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC) in Newark, NJ. Prior to joining NBIMC, he was Assistant Professor, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, at the University of Kentucky, where he worked with Harish Seethamraju, MD, Medical Director, Barnabas Health Advanced Lung Disease and Transplant Program at NBIMC, and engaged in lung transplant for three years.
Dr. Yanagida is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation and American Society for Artificial Internal Organs. He is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.
He conducted residency in General Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Yanagida continued his training in Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship followed by Heart/Lung Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Assist Fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
