Ocean County, NJ – Beginning on Tuesday, April 9, Barnabas Health Van Dyke Hospice and Palliative Care Center, will host a free ten-week volunteer training program in Toms River for individuals interested in becoming a Hospice Volunteer. Each of the ten sessions will be held on a Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Programs will be held on April 9, 16, 23 and 30; May 7, 14, 21 and 28; and June 4 and 11.
The volunteer training program is designed to give participants an understanding of the needs of patients and families who are coping with advanced illness. Upon completion of the program, volunteers will be connected with patients in close proximity to where they reside.
