Nutley, NJ – Angela Abbaleo, of Nutley, NJ, Medical Records Coordinator, Barnabas Health Hospice and Palliative Care Center (BHHPCC) in West Orange, was named Support Staff Member of the Year by the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NJHPCO). Each year the NJHPCO presents Hospice Team Awards to recognize outstanding hospice professionals as role models for their counterparts statewide. Angela, who has worked with BHHPCC for 15 years, is responsible for ensuring patient records are accurate and reporting to physicians.
Barnabas Heath Hospice and Palliative Care Center was proud to have two professionals honored with Hospice Team Awards this year. “One of the primary goals of hospice care is to empower patients and families to make choices that will help them to live their remaining life to the absolute fullest,” said Keith Boroch, President and Chief Executive Officer, Barnabas Health Hospice and Home Care. “I am proud of our award winners and their commitment to helping us meet this goal.”

Founded in 1979, the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization educates professionals and consumers about hospice and palliative care. Its membership includes over 90 percent of the state’s licensed hospices, which together serve over 20,000 patients with end-stage illness and their families each year.
The NJHPCO’s Hospice Team Awards were presented in June in Eatontown, NJ.
