Hospice Chaplain Appointed to National Board


Rev. Dr. Jeffery T. Garland, DMin., Ed.S., BCC, Chaplain, Barnabas Health Hospice, had been appointed to the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) Board of Directors.

With commitment to interfaith ministry and the professional practice of chaplaincy care, the APC serves chaplains in all types of health and human service settings, advocating for quality chaplaincy care of all persons in health care facilities, correctional institutions, long-term care units, rehabilitation centers, hospice, the military and other specialized settings.

Rev. Dr. Garland has been an active member with APC since 1997 and became a board certified chaplain in 2002. Endorsed by The American Baptist Churches, USA, he is the assistant to the pastor at Berean Baptist Church in Newark, NJ. He received his doctorate of ministry from Drew University School of Theology, his master of divinity from New York Theological Seminary and his education specialist in marriage and family therapy degree from Seton Hall University.
