Montclair Resident and Barnabas Health Hospice Employee Earns Award from NJHPCO


Elaine Leporati, MPA, RN, CHPN, of Montclair, NJ, Director of Intake and Managed Care at Barnabas Health Hospice and Palliative Care Center (BHHPCC) in West Orange, was recently named Director of Intake and Managed Care of the Year by the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NJHPCO). She is one of four BHHPCC professionals honored with Hospice Team Awards this year.

Each year, the NJHPCO presents Hospice Team Awards to recognize outstanding hospice professionals as role models for their counterparts statewide. Ms. Leporati, who has worked with BHHPCC for 27 years, is responsible for all referrals that come into the BHHPCC and negotiating contracts with medical equipment suppliers. She also oversees researching insurance and obtaining authorizations, overseeing the medical records department, and ordering medical supplies.

"No day is ever boring," said Ms. Leporati. "I have my hands in a lot of different areas!"
