Nursing Officer, Barnabas Health, was selected as one of the New Jersey
League for Nursing’s (NJLN) "Legendary Leaders in Nursing."
Ms. Holecek was chosen for her professional accomplishments and years
of support she has given to the nurses of New Jersey during her distinguished
career. She will be awarded at the organization’s 100th anniversary

Manor in Edison.
Throughout her nursing and administrative career, Ms. Holecek has enhanced
and improved health care quality and education while advancing the profession
of nursing. She is responsible for creating and implementing many System-wide
initiatives which have standardized nursing clinical practice and policy
throughout Barnabas Health. Some of these initiatives include the Professional
Practice Council comprised of nursing staff throughout the System and
numerous nursing and multidisciplinary collaboratives which standardize
clinical care, education and research for our specialty areas. Twenty
active subcommittees are charged with exploring new initiatives in clinical
care, reviewing evidence-based information, translating current research
into practice, policies and procedures, while networking to share ideas.
Through their planning and intervention, a standard of care has been developed
that embraces quality and safety.
In addition, numerous system-wide patient experience initiatives have been
created under Ms. Holecek’s leadership, assuring that our patients
and loved ones are cared for in the most compassionate and empathetic
environment possible. A succession planning program for our future nurse
leaders has also been developed as well as a care coordination program
that is addressing a seamless approach to patient care across the continuum.
These initiatives, along with many more, differentiate Barnabas Health
Nursing while defining one of the largest nursing departments in the State
of New Jersey.
For 100 years, NJLN has been promoting excellence through education, and
recognizing excellence in performance. The organization acknowledges nurses,
like Ms. Holecek, who foster the development and improvement of nursing
services and nursing education.
