May 1, 2013, Toms River, NJ – Community Medical Center will host Living Well in celebration of national Women’s Health Week. The program is designed to bring women together for an evening to celebrate health and wellness.
The program will be held on Wednesday, May 15, from 5 to 8 pm at the Clarion in Toms River. Physician lectures will take place from 6 - 7 pm and health screenings and a Health Fair will be conducted between 5 - 5:45 pm and 7 - 8 pm. A light dinner and free drawings for prizes will be provided. Everyone in attendance will have the chance to win a Coach© bag.
Physician specialists will be available to discuss topics of importance to women’s health including a presentation on “What’s Keeping You Up at Night” by Dr. Darshana Amin, Board Certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine. She will discuss the importance of sleep and how hormonal changes affect getting a good night’s rest. She will also discuss what you can do get a good night’s sleep.
Dr. George Trim, FACOG, FACS, Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, will discuss how hormones affect us as we age and will lead a discussion entitled“Is it Hot in Here?”. He will discuss treatment options for menopause including Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and Bio-identicals and how to weigh their risks and benefits.
