Community Medical Center Invites You to ‘Get Your Red On’ To Raise Awareness of Heart Disease in Women

Community Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility, will present its fourth annual "Get Your Red On" program on Wednesday, February 26 from 5:30 – 8 pm. This free event will be held at the Clarion Hotel, located at 815 Route 37 West, Toms River.

This special evening for women is designed to raise awareness about achieving a heart healthy lifestyle. Joseph Guarino, MD, a Board Certified cardiologist, will present "Know Your Numbers" to give participants a better understanding of what their blood pressure, cholesterol and other test numbers mean. Dr. Ibrahim Moussa, a Board Certified cardiologist, will discuss Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), its prevalence, symptoms and treatment options. In addition, Toms River Chief of Police Mitch Little will discuss personal safety for women and demonstrate simple techniques to help keep safe.

Free blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings will be available as well as information on how to achieve a heart healthy lifestyle. All participants are asked to wear something red to the event.

Drawings for great prizes including show tickets, restaurant gift certificates and more will be offered. A light dinner and giveaways will also be provided.
