Diabetes… News You Can Use: Free Education Program Sponsored by the Center for Diabetes Education at Community Medical Center

Community Medical Center's Center for Diabetes Education will offer a free program, "Diabetes…News You Can Use" on Wednesday, November 19 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at The Clarion Hotel located at 815 Route 37 West in Toms River.

The free program on diabetes and weight management will feature a display of the latest diabetes self-care products and up-to-date diabetes information, as well as presentations by registered dietitians and certified diabetes educators. Kathleen Siciliano, RN, CDE will present "Connecting Weight Management to Diabetes" and Karen Hodge, RD, MS, CDE will present "Facts and Fiction About Weight and Diabetes." There will be ample time for questions and answers as well as an "Ask the Diabetes Educators" session to give participants the opportunity to speak with nurses and dieticians.

The Center for Diabetes Education at Community Medical Center offers education and support to people, of all ages, with diabetes and to those who care for and about them. Nurses and Dietitians, who are Certified Diabetes Educators, provide educational sessions to meet the needs of all those with diabetes. Education includes a Self Management Series, monthly Support Groups, a Support Group for Parents of Children with Diabetes, an Insulin Pump Support Group, Individual Education for diabetes management, Weight Management and Community Education.
