Grand Opening of Inspiration Boutique at J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center

Representatives from Community Medical Center, the Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation and American Cancer Society celebrated the grand opening of the Inspiration Boutique, a specialty center for cancer patients located within the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center at Community Medical Center.

As patients undergoing treatments for cancer often experience hair loss, the Inspiration Boutique provides cancer patients with access to a large variety of wig styles and hats/caps, free of charge. Patients may also participate in reiki therapy and other complementary therapies, also at no cost.

"Thanks to generous funding from the American Cancer Society through a grant from the Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation, patients can now receive even more comfort and care onsite at the Cancer Center," said Stephanie L. Bloom, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer, Community Medical Center. "Our hope is that these convenient services will not only offer comfort but help ease the stress on patients and their families."

Through the grant, the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center now also has a patient navigator, who assists patients during and following their treatment process by removing obstacles and helping them access social services, such as transportation and coping with their disease. In addition to the patient navigator funded through the grant, the Cancer Center also has clinical oncology nurse navigators to assist patients manage the medical aspects of their care.

The Inspiration Boutique, a specialty center for cancer patients located within the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center at Community Medical Center, offers a spa-like setting for patients to relax in a soothing and quiet environment.

Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center. The Inspiration Boutique provides cancer patients with wigs and complementary therapies free of charge to help them cope with their disease.
