Community Medical Center to Hold Evening Dedicated to Women and Their Breast Health

Breast Health Symposium on October 27

Toms River, N.J., September 23, 2015 – One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and every three minutes, another woman is diagnosed. Not only does it affect the person diagnosed, but family, friends, and co-workers can feel its effects as well.

That’s why there’s no such thing as being too careful when it comes to your health. Whether you have had a breast cancer scare, been diagnosed, or are concerned about maintaining good breast health, you are invited to join Community Medical Center for an evening dedicated to women and staying healthy on Tuesday, October 27 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm in Community Medical Center’s Auditorium.

Experts from Community Medical Center will provide information every woman can benefit from regarding breast health. Jorges Pardes, MD, Board Certified Radiologist with over 30 years of experience in breast imaging will explain the importance of where you get your mammogram and who interprets its results. Sumy Chang, MD, Board Certified and fellowship-trained breast surgeon, will share what options are available if the diagnosis is breast cancer. In addition, Russell Ashinoff, MD, Board Certified plastic/reconstructive surgeon will explore plastic surgery and reconstruction options as part of your treatment plan. Since good health starts with good food choices, Veronica Gajda, RD, CSO, Dietician, will present tips to help maintain healthy nutrition.

Join us before the symposium for a Health Fair in the Outpatient Lobby from 4:30 – 6 pm for health information and giveaways! Our health fair is free and open to the public.

Dinner will be provided and there will be free parking. Guests are asked to pre-register as seating is limited. Please call 1-888-724-7123 to register.
