Toms River, N.J., December 15, 2015 – Community Medical Center’s Community Health Services, part of Barnabas
Health, through a grant provided by the New Jersey Department of Health
and Senior Services, coordinates the New Jersey Cancer Education and Early
Detection program in Ocean County. Currently, free clinical health screenings
are available to uninsured women in Ocean County.
The program provides free clinical breast examinations, mammograms, cervical
exams and pap smears to uninsured women between the ages of 40 and 64.
To qualify for the program, participants must meet specific income requirements.
A clinic will be held on Wednesday, January 13 at the Family Planning Center
of Ocean County, Inc., 1173 Beacon Avenue in Manahawkin from 12 to 2:30
p.m. and on Thursday, January 14 at the Family Planning Center, 290 River
Avenue in Lakewood from 12 to 2:30 p.m.
An additional clinic will be held on Wednesday, January 27 at the Ocean
County Health Department, 175 Sunset Avenue in Toms River from 1 to 3 p.m.
