“Solutions for Better Pelvic Health and Incontinence” for Women


Community Medical Center celebrates Women’s Health Week

TOMS RIVER, NJ (April 26, 2015) – In celebration of Women’s Health Week, Community Medical Center, a RWJBarnabas Health facility, will host “Solutions for Better Pelvic Health and Incontinence” on Thursday, May 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel in Toms River. The free event is designed to educate women of all ages about pelvic health concerns, which are far too common and rarely discussed.

Guests will hear lectures by two of Community Medical Center’s expert physicians, Russell Harrell, MD, FACOG, Board-certified in OB/GYN specializing in urogynecology and Martin Michalewski, MD, FACOG, Board-certified in female pelvic medicine and OB/GYN. Dr. Harrell will discuss the different types of incontinence, how they are diagnosed and the various treatment options that are available. Dr. Michalewski will review the significant advances made in the field of female pelvic health including pelvic pain, prolapsed and discomfort during sex.

National Women’s Health Week is an observance led by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health. The goal is to empower women to make their health a priority. The week also serves as a time to help women understand what steps they can take to improve their health.
