Community Medical Center will hold a free event featuring the latest lung
health information. Guests will also be able to find out if they meet
criteria for a low-dose CT lung scan.
TOMS RIVER, NJ, September 7, 2016 – Lung cancer is the leading cause
of cancer-related deaths in men and women in the U.S., and it is most
curable when it is detected early.
The Lung Program at the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center at Community
Medical Center is sponsoring Your Lung Health – Breathe Easier,
an evening dedicated to providing the latest lung health information available,
including low dose CT-screening.
Our physician experts will discuss lung cancer, its signs and symptoms,
and ways it can be detected and treated. Dr. James McCaughan, Board Certified
Thoracic Surgeon, will discuss tobacco cessation, the best way to decrease
your risk for lung cancer, and surgical options for lung cancer. Dr. Michael
D’Angelo, Board Certified Interventional Radiologist, will share
information about low dose CT screenings and the benefits of Veran lung
biopsy technology. Dr. David D’Ambrosio, Board Certified Radiation
Oncologist, will provide information on the variety of treatment options
available, including CyberKnife.
Are you a current or former smoker who quit smoking less than 15 years
ago? Are you 55 to 77 years of age? If you answered ‘yes’
to these questions, you will be eligible to complete a screening profile
with a registered nurse to determine if you meet the criteria for a low-dose
CT Lung Scan.
A light dinner will be served, and there will be prize drawings. Seating
is limited and pre-registration is required. Call 1-888-724-7123 to register today.
