Community Medical Center Hosts New Jersey Devils for Annual Hospital Visit

Toms River, New Jersey—December 16, 2016— Community Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, hosted Kenny Daneyko, a New Jersey Devil alumni, during a recent visit to the hospital.

Daneyko spent time meeting patients, visitors, physicians and staff. He signed autographs and shared stories about their mutual love of the game of hockey and key moments in Daneyko’s career. He spent his entire twenty-year career playing for the NJ Devils and won three Stanley Cup championships with the team. Thanks to an impressive career and record 1,283 games as a Devil, he has earned the title ‘Mr. Devil.’

Community Medical Center was one of 10 RWJBarnabas Health facilities visited by the Devils on Tuesday, December 13 as part of the team’s annual tradition of visiting local medical centers dating back to 1982 – the Devils first season in New Jersey.

Earlier this year, RWJBarnabas became an official health care partner with the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center and unveiled the Center’s practice facility as the Barnabas Health Hockey House. The partnership focuses on unifying and inspiring the lives of the families, neighbors and communities throughout the state. Barnabas Health Hockey House, the epicenter of youth and amateur hockey in New Jersey, provides nutrition and wellness programs developed by RWJBarnabas Health experts and House staff as well as programs that build confidence, sportsmanship and life skills. RWJBarnabas Health and the New Jersey Devils also partner on a program that brings youth hockey clinics and wellness and nutrition education to players and coaches throughout New Jersey.
