Held February 26 at Eagle Oaks Country Club in Farmingdale, the event featured educational lecture sessions led by pediatric gastroenterologist Tina Rakitt, M.D., who addressed gluten-related digestive disorders, Mike Barrows, M.D., chief of pediatric endocrinology who spoke about type 2 diabetes, and Heather Grossman, M.D., chief of pediatric oncology and hematology, who gave an overview of the pediatrician's role in palliative care. Additionally, Jim Romer, clinical director of the Psychiatric Emergency Screening Service at Monmouth Medical Center, spoke to managing the child and adolescent mental health crisis.
