Monmouth Medical Center Presents March Childbirth and Parenting Programs

CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION IN SPANISH – NEW!
Tuesday, April 5 from 7 to 9 p.m.

For most pregnant women, even if you already have a child, the labor and birth process can be both overwhelming and joyful. Childbirth classes help give you the confidence to get through labor and delivery. This class, taught in Spanish by childbirth educators, will prepare each couple for the birth experience. Registration is required by calling 732-923-6992. $40 per couple.

CESAREAN BIRTH EDUCATION
Wednesday, April 6 from 7 to 9 p.m.

This education program is for couples and offers explanations of what to expect if Cesarean delivery is indicated for first time or repeat Cesarean deliveries. This program will be held at Monmouth Medical Center, located at 300 Second Avenue in Long Branch. To register, call 732-923-6992. $50 per couple.

EISENBERG FAMILY CENTER TOUR
Wednesday, April 6 from 8 to 9 p.m. and
Sunday, April 10 & 17 from 3 to 4 p.m.

Tour the Eisenberg Family Center, which offers a comfortable, homelike environment for expectant mothers in our expanded labor, delivery and recovery unit, and spacious postpartum rooms for women recovering from childbirth. Tours will be conducted by a staff member who will answer your questions. Tours are held at Monmouth Medical Center, located at 300 Second Avenue in Long Branch. MAKE ROOM FOR BABY
Saturday, April 9 from 10 to 11 a.m.

This is a special program for families and siblings (age two and older) who are expecting a baby brother or sister. Staff will acquaint them with the hospital setting and help to prepare them for the baby. This program is held at Monmouth Medical Center, located at 300 Second Avenue in Long Branch. TWO-DAY PREPARATION FOR CHILDBIRTH
Saturdays, April 9 & 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A complete childbirth education program in two-sessions including lectures on relaxation and breathing techniques. A continental breakfast will be provided. This class will be held at Monmouth Medical Center, located at 300 Second Avenue in Long Branch. Registration is required by calling 732-923-6992. $160 per couple.

BABY CARE BASICS
Saturdays, April 9 & 16 from 1 to 3 p.m.

This two-session program focuses on the care of the new baby including bathing, dressing, feeding and infant growth. Learn everything you need to know about infant care including development, safety and decisions about returning to work and other adjustments to life with baby for the new parents. The course will be held at Monmouth Medical Center, located at 300 Second Avenue in Long Branch. To register, call 732-923-6992. $95 per couple.

ONE-DAY MARVELOUS MULTIPLES
Sunday, April 10 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This one-day childbirth education program for those expecting twins, triplets or more is to be attended early in the second trimester of pregnancy. The class will cover nutrition, labor and delivery, anesthesia options, Cesarean section, relaxation techniques, risks and complications of multiple pregnancy, recovery and caring for multiples. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. There will also be a tour of the Regional Newborn Center. The program will be held at Monmouth Medical Center located at 300 Second Avenue in Long Branch. To register, call 732-923-6992. $189 per couple.

PREPARATION FOR CHILDBIRTH
Tuesdays, April 12 & 19 and May 3 & 10 from 7 to 9 p.m.

This course offers four sessions of childbirth education including lectures on relaxation and breathing techniques. This program will be held at Monmouth Medical Center, located at 300 Second Avenue in Long Branch. To register, call 732-923-6992. $125 per couple.

ONE-DAY CHILDBIRTH PROGRAM
Sunday, April 17 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A complete childbirth preparation course in one day geared for highly motivated participants with busy lifestyles or fluctuating schedules unable to commit to a five-week program. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. The course will be held at Monmouth Medical Center located at 300 Second Avenue in Long Branch. Pre-registration is required by calling 732-923-6992. $189 per couple.

STEP (SYSTEMATIC TRAINING FOR EFFECTIVE PARENTING OF YOUNG CHILDREN)
Wednesdays, April 27 and May 4, 11, 18 &25 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Parenting young children can be challenging. The five-session STEP program focuses on understanding the behavior of young children, communication, cooperation, effective discipline and nurturing children from infancy to six years. This program will take place at Monmouth Medical Center, located at 300 Second Avenue in Long Branch. $125 per couple.
