Stress and Relaxation for Seniors
Thursday, May 2 at 2 p.m.
Join health coaches for a presentation on the importance of properly managing stress. Refreshments will be provided. The event will be held at the Manchester Library, located at 21 S. Colonial Drive in Manchester Township. Registration is preferred by calling the Manchester Library at 732-657-7600.

Bone Density Screenings
Thursday, May 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
No bones about it – bone health is an important part of overall health. Join health coaches from the center for Healthy Aging at Kimball Medical Center to receive your free bone density screenings and learn more about your bone health. These screenings are open to the public and will be offered at the ShopRite at the Bay, located at 860 Fischer Blvd. in Toms River.

Take Control of Your Health: A Chronic Disease Self Management Program
Thursdays, May 9 through June 13 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
Those living with a chronic disease often struggle to control symptoms. During this six-week course, health coaches will teach participants about chronic illness, help them learn from one another about ways to cope with an illness, and identify ways they can live healthier by managing symptoms of chronic disease. The free program is open to Ocean County residents, their families and/or caregivers. Sessions will be held every Thursday, May 9 through June 6, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Center for Healthy Living, located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. Registration is required by May 2 by calling health coaches Peggy Lomerson at 732-575-0452 or Kelly DeLeon at 732-597-6075.

Intimacy After 60
Monday, May 13 at 1:30 p.m.
Sexual health is important at any age. During this workshop, health coaches will explore ways to maintain intimacy as we age. Refreshments will be provided. The workshop will be held at the Waretown Branch of the Ocean County Library, located at 112 Main Street in Waretown. Registration is preferred by calling by calling the Waretown Library at 609-693-5133.

Balance and Bone Density Screenings
Thursday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
No bones about it – bone health is an important part of overall health. Join health coaches from the center for Healthy Aging at Kimball Medical Center to receive your free bone density and balance screenings and learn more about your bone health. These screenings are open to the public and will be offered at County Connection in the Ocean County Mall, located on Hooper Ave. in Toms River on the lower level by JCPenney. Refreshments will be provided, and no registration is required.

Stroke Awareness Lunch & Learn
Monday, May 20 from noon to 2 p.m.
Enjoy lunch while health coaches provide information on the risks associated with stroke and ways to prevent and reduce these risks. This free event, open to those over age 65, will be held at the Center for Healthy Living, located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. Registration is required by calling health coaches Peggy Lomerson at 732-575-0452 or Kelly DeLeon at 732-597-6075.

Healthy Eating
Tuesday, May 21 at 2 p.m.
Join health coaches from the Center for Healthy Aging as they present information on healthy eating habits to increase energy, improve health and reduce risk of disease. Refreshments will be provided. This workshop will be held at the Manchester Branch of the Ocean County Library, located at 21 S. Colonial Drive in Manchester Township. Registration is preferred by calling the Manchester Library at 732-657-7600.

Wednesday, May 22 at 10 a.m.

Skin Cancer Screenings
Wednesday, May 22 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Skin cancer is preventable, detectable and treatable, especially if it’s caught early. Receive your free skin cancer screening at the Center for Healthy Living, located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. Registration is required by calling 1-888-724-7123.

Free Health Screenings
Wednesday, May 29 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Learn more about your health with free blood pressure, respiratory, balance, bone density and pharmaceutical screenings. These screenings are open to the public and will be offered at Ocean County YMCA Senior Health and Fitness Celebration, located at 1088 Whitty Rd. in Toms River. Registration is not required.
