Self Defense and Exercise for All Ages
Mondays, April 8 and 22 from 7 to 8 p.m.
Don’t be a target. This ongoing program is for men and women of all ages who want to learn to protect themselves from personal assaults, street attacks and abductions. A black-belt instructor teaches participants to use leverage and balance to stay safe. This class is held at the Center for Healthy Living, located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. Classic and Gentle Yoga for All Ages

Classic: from 9 to 10:15 a.m.
Gentle: from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.
Men and women of all ages can enjoy the benefits of increased flexibility, range of motion, energy and relaxation by participating in Friday morning classic or gentle yoga. Gentle enough for beginners and seasoned practitioners, classic yoga includes the sun salutation warrior pose and shoulder stand, and gentle yoga includes the full range of basic yoga stretches and positions. AARP Driving Safety Program
Monday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The nation’s first and largest refresher course is designed especially to your needs. Learn defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws and the rules of the road in this six-hour course. Cost is $12 for AARP and $14 for non-members. The course will be held at the Center for Healthy Living, located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. Free Weight-Loss Surgery Lecture
Thursday, April 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Learn the benefits of gastric bypass and gastric band surgeries directly from the experts – Michael Bilof, MD and Basil Yurcisin, MD, both of the Center of Excellence Bariatrics Program. Diabetes Self-Management Education
New sessions begin each month. Call for more information or to schedule.
More than 25.8 million people in the U.S. have diabetes. Learn how to manage your diabetes with this program, taught by registered nurses and registered dietitians – all certified diabetes educators. This program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association and held at the Center for Healthy Living, located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. Registration is required by calling 1.888.724.7123. Program attendees will need a doctor’s prescription and will be billed to Medicare or your insurance carrier.
