HealthEASE: Move Today Program
Thursdays, January 8, 15, 22 & 29 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Move today for a healthier tomorrow! Health coaches from the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus invite seniors age 60 and older to this free, non-aerobic, simple exercise program in a fun, motivating environment. Throughout the sessions you will increase strength and flexibility, improve balance and posture, relieve tension and stress and reduce the risk of falls and injury. The program will take place at the Center for Healthy Living at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. FREE Bone Density Screenings
Tuesday, January 13 from 2 to 4 p.m.

No bones about it – bone health is an important part of overall health. Join health coaches from the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus to receive your free bone density screenings and learn more about your bone health. These free screenings will be offered at the Center for Healthy Living at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. Preregistration is required by calling 1-888-724-7123.

Take Control of Your Health
Every Monday, January 12 through February 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Those living with a chronic disease often struggle to control their symptoms. Join health coaches from the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus to learn to manage the day-to-day issues associated with chronic disease. Over the course of six weeks, the health coaches will teach participants about chronic illness and help them to learn from one another about ways to cope with an illness. The coaches will also help to identify ways participants can live healthier by managing symptoms of chronic disease. A light lunch will be served at the introductory session. Sessions will be held at the Center for Healthy Living, located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. Preregistration is required by calling 732-597-6075.

Navigating a Hospital Stay
Tuesday, January 20 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

A hospital stay is never fun, but it can be smooth and stress-free if you're prepared for what to expect. Join health coaches from the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, as they discuss the ins and outs of both planned and unplanned hospital stays. The health coaches will review topics such as what to discuss with your physician prior to procedures, plans to have in place, understanding your health insurance coverage to help you avoid any unexpected charges and ways to stay healthy and germ-free while you're admitted. This program takes place at the Point Pleasant Borough Library, located at 834 Beaver Dam Road in Point Pleasant. This program is free, but registration is required by calling 732-295-1555.
