FREE Bone Density Screenings
Monday, November 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wednesday, November 5 from 10 a.m.to 1 p.m.
No bones about it – bone health is an important part of overall health. Join health coaches from the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus to receive your free bone density screenings and learn more about your bone health. The November 3 screenings will be held at the Jackson Township ShopRite, located at 260 North County Line Road in Jackson. The November 5 screenings will be held at the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall located on Hooper Avenue in Toms River. For more information, call 732-575-0452.

Seasonal Affective Disorder
Monday, November 3 at 2 p.m.
Have you ever felt as though you had a case of the winter blues? As the days become shorter, join us as we explore the causes, symptoms and treatment of seasonal depression during "S.A.D.," a discussion on seasonal affective disorder. Following the discussion, health coaches from the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus will be on hand to provide general health screenings. This free program includes refreshments and takes place at the Ocean County Library, Manchester Branch, located at 21 Colonial Drive in Manchester. Registration is required by calling 732-657-7600.

Elderfest Expo
Thursday, November 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Preferred Home Health Care presents Elderfest! This expo will highlight crafters, free health and wellness screenings, a psychic medium Debra D and chances to win a $100 gift card every 30 minutes. Join the health coaches from the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus for free balance screenings, plus free glucose screenings offered through the Center for Healthy Living. Attendees will also have a chance to participate in a drawing for a free cruise for two on GalaxSea Cruises; the winner will be announced at the expo. The expo takes place at the Clarion Hotel located at 815 Route 37 in Toms River.

Chair Yoga
Fridays, November 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 2 to 3 p.m.

Join the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus on Fridays to "get fit while you sit" as they present Chair Yoga, a new exercise class for seniors. Led by Eileen Tremarco, Laksmi Volker Chair Yoga instructor, HHC, Chair Yoga will help you to relax your mind and body from a seated position, without the worry of getting up and down on the floor. Learn how to improve muscle tone, enhance your flexibility, increase circulation, and alleviate stiff joints, all while increasing your overall health and feeling of well being. This program will be held at the Center for Healthy Living at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. Osteoporosis 101 and Free Bone Density Screenings
Monday, November 10 from 10 a.m. to noon
Osteoporosis affects men and women of all ages. The Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus will host a presentation on osteoporosis and discuss risk factors and how to recognize its signs and symptoms. Free bone density screenings and refreshments will be provided following the presentation, which takes place at the Ocean County Library, Brick Branch located at 301 Chambersbridge Road in Brick. Free Memory Screenings on National Memory Screening Day
Tuesday, November 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Memory screenings are a significant first step toward discovering memory problems. According to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA), early recognition of memory loss offers a greater opportunity for patients to benefit from treatment to slow memory loss. The Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus will provide free, confidential memory screenings and refreshments on National Memory Screening Day. These screenings will take place at the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus located at 500 River Avenue, Suite 200 in Lakewood. How to Become an Organ Donor
Monday, November 24 from 2 to 3 p.m.

Nationwide, there are nearly 115,000 people waiting for a life-saving organ transplant, and nearly 5,000 of those waiting reside in New Jersey. Through a partnership with the NJ Sharing Network, Barnabas Health is committed to increasing organ and tissue donation education and awareness. Join health coaches from the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus to explore the benefits of organ donation and transplantation. Free refreshments will be provided during this event taking place at the Ocean County Library, Manchester Branch located at 21 Colonial Drive in Manchester.
