12/11/2014

Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus was recently named a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, an independent organization that accredits and certifies health care organizations and programs in the United States. Certification and accreditation by The Joint Commission is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization's commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus has been recognized by The Joint Commission as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® for achieving excellence in performance on its accountability measures during 2013 for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care measure sets. Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus was also recognized as a Top Performer for 2012 for four measure sets: acute myocardial infarction (AMI), heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care improvement project.

"It's an honor to receive recognition of such a high caliber for using evidence-based practices at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus," said Mike Mimoso, FACHE, President and CEO of Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus. "We're very proud of the commitment to quality care we provide to our patients each day, and this recognition is a testament to the dedication of our highly skilled health care professionals."

Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus is one of 26 Top Performer hospitals in New Jersey that exceeded measurement requirements by collecting and reporting data on five or more core measure sets in 2013. As a Top Performer, Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus was required to achieve a cumulative performance of 95 percent or above across all reported accountability measures, among other factors.

The hospital must provide evidence-based practice 95 times out of 100 opportunities to receive a score of 95 percent. The ratings are based on an aggregation of accountability measure data reported to The Joint Commission during the 2013 calendar year.

"While safety and quality of care are of upmost importance for all hospitals, it's a positive distinction for Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus to be recognized once again for our commitment to continually providing the best quality of care possible," said Dottie Perez, Administrative Director of Quality and Accreditation, Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus.
