Benefits of Exercise
Friday, July 17 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. At this program, presented by the health coaches from the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, attendees will learn the health and everyday benefits of exercise and physical activity as well as the differences between the two. The health coaches will review and provide instruction on a few helpful exercises as well as offer tips on how to begin and maintain a healthy lifestyle. This program takes place at the Ocean County Library's Manchester Township Branch located at 21 Colonial Drive in Manchester. Basics of Diabetes
Monday, July 20 from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's latest study, diabetes is becoming more common in the United States with the number of diagnosed Americans tripling from 5.6 million to 20.9 million. To spread awareness and educate people about diabetes, its risk factors and how to manage the disease, the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus presents Basics of Diabetes, with Irene McNamara, MSN, RN, WCC, CDE who will discuss prevention and treatment options as well as provide blood glucose screenings free of charge to attendees who have fasted for two hours prior to the test. This program takes place at the Jackson Township Senior Center located at 45 Don Connor Drive in Jackson. Registration is required by calling 732-928-2313. Free.

Lunch & Learn: Women's Pelvic Health
Wednesday, July 22 from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Pelvic floor disorders (PFDs), which include bladder control problems, bowel control problems and pelvic organ prolapse, impact one in three women at some point in their lives. Join Martin P. Michalewski, M.D., FACOG, a urogynecologist at Monmouth Medical Center, for an informative session about PFDs and treatment options that might just change your life. This program is open to the public and will be held at the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus located at 500 River Avenue, Suite 200 in Lakewood.
