Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus Presents Staying Falls Free Lunch and Learn

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, millions of adults aged 65 and older fall each year. Among older adults, falls are the leading cause of both fatal and nonfatal injuries – one out of three older adults' falls each year but less than half talk to their healthcare providers about it.

We all know that a fall can have life-changing consequences; however, they can be avoided! In an effort to raise awareness of falls, Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus presents a Staying Falls Free Lunch and Learn on Monday, September 21 at 11:30 a.m.

Join the Center for Healthy Aging for this practical, interactive discussion on some of the most common causes of accidental and unexplained falls and how they may be avoided. This presentation will also include a demonstration on the safest way to get up after a fall. Lunch will be provided. Following the program, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a free balance screening.

This free program is open to the public and will be held at the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus located at 500 River Avenue, Suite 200 in Lakewood. Registration is required by calling the Barnabas Health LINK at 1-888-724-7123. Free.
