According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. Approximately 42.2 million Americans age 60 and older have one or more forms of cardiovascular disease. In addition, Jennifer Klein, RD, of the ShopRite of Manchester, will provide a cooking demonstration that will include delicious, heart healthy ingredients. Attendees will receive lunch and are encouraged to wear red in support of heart health month.
This free event will be held at the Center for Healthy Living located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. Registration is required by calling Kelly DeLeon at 732-597-6075.
