The Cancer Support Community Presents What to Expect…

A cancer diagnosis can often be paired with new, difficult emotions, including fear, anger, shock, sadness and disbelief. In an effort to help those recently diagnosed with cancer, the Cancer Support Community at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus will present “What to Expect…” on Wednesday, February 17 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Cancer Support Community at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.

This program, led by Rita McTighe, RN, Oncology Nurse Navigator at Cancer Support Community, will discuss the side effects of cancer treatments, including radiation, chemotherapy and surgery, as well as what to expect during the treatment process. Participants will also receive information about the members of the oncology support team and the community resources available to them. All new patients will receive treatment binders to keep track of important information and paperwork, courtesy of the American Cancer Society.

This free program is open to the public and will be held at the Cancer Support Community at Monmouth Medical Center, Suite ST-007, located at 300 Second Avenue in Long Branch. For more information about this and other programs offered by the Cancer Support Community, please call 732-923-6090.
