The Cancer Support Community at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus Presents Look Good, Feel Better

Look Good, Feel Better” is a national public service program for female cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. Dedicated to improving self-esteem and quality of life for female cancer patients, the program – presented by the Cancer Support Community at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus - will be held on Monday, April 18 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Center for Healthy Living in Lakewood.

This program helps improve the self-image and appearance of female cancer patients by providing hands-on beauty techniques to manage the appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Patients will learn to cope with the side effects of treatment and feel comfortable with changes in their appearance by receiving a personal makeover by a cosmetology professional.

The Cancer Support Community offers support, education and hope for those affected by a cancer diagnosis. Programs each month include relaxation and guided imagery; beading buddies; yoga; mindfulness meditation; exercise for strength; all blood cancers; coping with progression; metastatic and recurrent; and what to expect for the newly diagnosed and those who support them.

“Look Good, Feel Better” will take place at Center for Healthy Living, located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. Registration is required by calling the American Cancer Society at 1.800.227.2345.
