Registration begins at 10 am and the Walk steps off at 11 am. In addition to a walk along the trail at scenic Verona Park, activities will include a Kids’ Walk, entertainment, as well as music, food and beverages. Individuals, families and teams are encouraged to join in the event. To register for the Heart & Sole Walk or to make a donation, visit www.newarkbethfoundation.org or call 973-926-7018.

Eleven years ago, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and the family of Mary Anne Ahearn, a heart transplant recipient in 1990, joined together to initiate this annual Walk to raise money in her memory. Inspired by the spirit of giving that filled every day of Mary Anne’s Life, the money raised by the Heart & Sole Walk supports patients and programs of the Heart Failure Treatment and Transplant Program at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
