(Newark, NJ – April 2, 2016) Newark Beth Israel Medical Center’s (NBIMC) Martin L. Gimovsky, MD,
FACOG, has recently been named, for the eighth consecutive year, a “Top
Doctor for Women’s Health” as published in the February/March
2016 issue of
Inside Jersey magazine. Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and in maternal fetal medicine
(MFM), Dr. Gimovsky has devoted his practice to the Greater Newark area
after graduating from the New York University School of Medicine. He completed
a residency at The Sloane Hospital for Women, Columbia-Presbyterian Medical
Center and a MFM fellowship at University of Southern California Medical Center.
Though many of the over 3,000 babies born at NBIMC are normal deliveries,
Dr. Gimovsky’s patients are among those with the highest risk of
pregnancy complications. "I care for women with a wide range of serious
medical issues like lupus, hypertension, sickle cell anemia and cardiac
disorders,” says Dr. Gimovsky, “Multiple medical disciplines
are involved in providing optimal care."
Gimovsky is part of a team of MFM specialists which includes
Munir Nazir, MD, FACOG, Director of the MFM Division at NBIMC, and
Karen Koscica, DO, FACOG, Director of the Placenta Accreta Team and the Diabetes in Pregnancy Center.
Together they care for women experiencing complex fetal cardiac anomalies
and other disorders, with a goal to safely deliver birth to a healthy infant.
NBIMC has been a state-designated Regional Perinatal Center since 1981
providing expert intensive care for mothers and infants who are referred
from area hospitals in four counties. The team is supported by over 30
pediatric subspecialties at Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at
NBIMC and by the renowned pediatric cardiologists and cardiac surgeons
of the Children’s Heart Center.
At the helm of a comprehensive department that also includes urogynecologists,
midwives and an experienced team of robotic gynecological surgeons, is
board-certified gynecologic oncologist
Patrick S. Anderson, MD, FACOG who is the current NJBIZ Healthcare Heroes Physician of the Year.
Each year, Inside Jersey releases a list of the state’s top physicians
in conjunction with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., which publishes America’s
Top Doctors. Based on peer nominations, attributes such as board certification,
clinical skills, training, years in practice, achievements and other criteria
are reviewed and assessed by a physician-led research team.
