Saint Barnabas Offers Free Vein Screenings

03/12/2013

Livingston, N.J. – Do you experience leg discomfort, swelling and varicose veins? If so, you may be suffering from superficial venous reflux disease which affects approximately 25 million people in the United States.

To help, Michael Kaplan, MD, and Robert Kamieniecki, MD, board certified interventional radiologists from The Vein Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, are offering a free vein screening to community members. The screening will take place on Friday, April 5, 2013, at The Vein Center at Saint Barnabas, 101 Old Short Hills Road, Suite 302, West Orange, NJ 07052. To schedule an appointment, between 7:30 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 to 5:30 pm, please call The Barnabas Health LINK at 1-888-724-7123. All participants should wear loose-fitting, two-piece outfits. Healthy refreshments will be provided.

The Vein Center at Saint Barnabas treats a wide range of vein conditions ranging from the cosmetic – such as spider veins – to the more serious, including skin ulcers and pelvic congestion syndrome. While legs are the most common target, all problems result from veins that aren’t working properly to circulate blood and affect people of both genders and all ages.
