Feeling Stronger - Feeling Better: For Individuals with Parkinson's and Other Neuromuscular/

Movement Disorders

This program for individuals with Parkinson's and other neuromuscular/movement disorders includes weekly Tai Chi and Strength Training exercise classes as well as separate, monthly support groups for participants and caregivers. Participants can enroll in the complete series or select individual classes. Exercise classes are free for JCC members and cost $5 each for non-members. There is no charge for the support group. High-Risk Lung Cancer Screening

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States. It is most curable when diagnosed at an early stage. The Saint Barnabas Lung Cancer Institute is offering a free low-dose CT screening program for individuals 50 to 74 years of age who are at high-risk for developing lung cancer to identify abnormalities earlier. If you are a current or former smoker, learn if you are eligible for this life-saving test. Please note, the test is not performed at this event. Transfusion Alternatives and Bloodless Surgery Seminar

The Blood Management Institute at Saint Barnabas offers patients alternative approaches and uses numerous techniques to decrease blood transfusions throughout the hospital. At this free, educational

seminar, you will learn more how the program works, how to best prepare for planned and unexpected hospital visits, and alternative techniques and methods that are offered to blood transfusions at Saint Barnabas. Burn Peer Support Group

The Susan Fischer Burn Peer Support Group is designed to help burn survivors and their families adjust to their new lives. The group is led by staff from The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas and SOAR (Survivors Offering Assistance in Recovery) volunteers who are burn survivors themselves. Siblings Class

A class for the whole family designed to reduce children's anxieties when separating with their mothers at the time of delivery. This class promotes a good feeling about the hospital and provides children with realistic expectations of newborn babies. The fee is $40 per family. New Moms' Circle and Breastfeeding Support
