Diabetes Self-Management Class
January 4, 11, 18 and 25; 6:00 to 8:00 pm
Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center, 200 South Orange Avenue, Livingston
The Diabetes Self-Management Class, available for all ages, is taught by certified diabetes educators, nurses and nutritionists, and includes four two-hour classes plus a one-hour follow-up class. Topics covered include Diabetes disease process, nutritional management, physical activity, medications, monitoring, prevention, detection, and treatment of acute and chronic complications, goal setting and problem solving, and psychosocial adjustment. Weight Loss Surgery Support Group

The New Jersey Bariatric and Metabolic Institute at Saint Barnabas offers a monthly specialized support group for patients who have had bariatric surgery. This informal group provides an opportunity for patients to discuss weight loss surgery experiences. Each support group offers additional educational and networking opportunities for participants. We welcome patients who are preparing for surgery as well. All meetings are run by a registered dietitian and a licensed psychologist. Hepatitis B Clinic

While one in 10 Asians have the Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), only one in three are aware that they are infected.
