Breast Cancer Symposium Explores The Healing Power of Drumming

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Department of Psychosocial Support Services in the Cancer Program at Saint Barnabas will present its “Breast Cancer Symposium 2017” on Thursday, October 12, 2017. The evening will feature The Healing Power of Drum: A Rhythm-Based Wellness Experience.

Under the direction of Robert Lawrence Friedman, MA, award winning psychotherapist, author, professional speaker, and musician, breast cancer patients and their families will participate in an interactive exploration of how the hand drum and rhythm-based exercises can be used to improve immune system function, reduce stress and experience positive emotions.

The program takes place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Islami Auditorium at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, 94 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ. A light dinner will be provided and free parking will be available in the main visitors’ lot. The program is free but registration is requested by calling 973-322-2671 or visiting the online registration site.
