Our program, led by accomplished laparoscopic bariatric surgeons as well as a multidisciplinary team of experts, is one of a few free standing facilities in the US to have this prestigious designation. Blood Pressure Screening

Lunar Chinese New Year Celebration

The New Jersey Bariatric and Metabolic Institute at Saint Barnabas offers a monthly specialized support group for patients who have had bariatric surgery. This informal group provides an opportunity for patients to discuss weight loss surgery experiences. Each support group offers additional educational and networking opportunities for participants. We welcome patients who are preparing for surgery as well. All meetings are run by a registered dietitian and a licensed psychologist. Fly Red for Heart Disease To Benefit the Heart Center at SBMC

Three different 45-minute indoor cycling classes beginning at 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm, hosted by Dr. Joel, Janet, Elle and Amanda Braverman and Margie Heller and Daniel Weiss, will benefit the Heart Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. The cost per session is $100. There are 45 bikes available for each session. All participants will receive a t-shirt and light refreshments will be served. Spin shoes must be worn. Cooked & Uncorked To Benefit the Burn Center at SBMC

This annual event, sponsored by the Firefighter’s Mutual Benevolent Association (FMBA) to benefit The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, is a culinary extravaganza where participants can experience the tastes and flavors of more than 40 of New Jersey’s finest restaurants, caterers and dessert shops all in one location. In addition, firefighters from around New Jersey compete in the Ultimate Fire Department Cook-off. Event sponsors include: Allied Beverage Group, ShopRite, and Autoland. A class for the whole family designed to reduce children’s anxieties when separating with their mothers at the time of delivery. New Moms’ Circle and Breastfeeding Support

Meet the Doula
