Saint Barnabas Medical Center, a flagship facility of RWJBarnabas Health,
has been selected to receive the Excellence Award, the highest level recognition
bestowed by the Mid-Atlantic Alliance for Performance Excellence (MAAPE),
a Baldrige-based award programs.
MAAPE’s Excellence Award recognizes applicants from diverse industries
that demonstrate -- through practices and results -- superior levels of
performance excellence. As the highest quality achievement award
presented on the state level, it follows the Malcolm Baldrige criteria
for organizational excellence. Seven categories make up the award criteria:
leadership; strategy; customers; measurement, analysis, and knowledge
management; workforce; operations and results.
“Saint Barnabas Medical Center is relentless in our efforts to align
and integrate processes to ensure we are providing the highest level of
safety and quality, said Stephen P. Zieniewicz, FACHE, President and CEO,
Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Obtaining the state-level Baldrige Award
from the Mid-Atlantic Alliance for Performance Excellence reflects the
dedication of our entire team to deliver on our mission to provide compassionate
care, healthcare excellence and superior service to our patients and their
families. The honor is the result of a diligent pursuit of excellence
from physicians, employees and volunteers at every level of the organization
beginning with our Board of Trustees,” continued Mr. Zieniewicz.
The award will be presented at MAAPE's 12th Annual Awards Banquet &
Conference to be held November at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern, PA.
