Toms River Mayor and Township Council Honored by DART Coalition of Ocean County Ocean County Health Department and the Ocean Monmouth Health Alliance
Ocean County, NJ, August 14, 2014 -- The DART Coalition of Ocean County, a Barnabas Health Institute for Prevention grant-funded community coalition, the Ocean County Health Department and the Ocean Monmouth Health Alliance recently attended the township council meeting and presented a plaque to Toms River Mayor Kelaher and the Toms River Township Council in recognition of their ordinance making the municipal complex tobacco-free, and for their commitment to the health and well-being of the residents of Toms River.

About the DART Coalition:
The DART Coalition was created in 2009 to reduce alcohol-related motor vehicle crashes in the 18 to 25 year old population. The Coalition’s goals expanded in 2012 to include substance abuse issues and more recently, tobacco dependency.
The DART Coalition includes 80 active comprised of Ocean County community leaders including law enforcement and government officials, educators, business owners, substance abuse professionals, parents, clergy, students and youth.
The DART Coalition of Ocean County is funded by a grant from the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health & Addiction Services.
