Barnabas Health Facilities in Toms River and Long Branch will host two Narcan distribution, training and education sessions. The programs are available for anyone at risk of an opioid overdose or their family and friends.
All participants will receive a FREE Narcan (naloxone) kit and a treatment voucher for 30 days of free substance abuse treatment to use or distribute to any person that needs medication-assisted treatment. In addition, education will be provided on how to administer Narcan to reverse a heroin/opioid overdose by credentialed counselors and licensed nurses. They will also receive 'hands on' practice of rescue breathing and naloxone administration.
Each of these training sessions will be limited to 25 participants on a "first-come, first-served" basis.
Thursday, April 23 @ 6 pm at Community Medical Center - Community Medical Center is located at 99 Route 37 in Toms River. Sessions will be held in Conference Rooms A & B on the first floor. Parking is available in the parking garage.
Thursday, April 30 @ 6pm at Monmouth Medical Center - Monmouth Medical Center is located at 300 2nd Avenue in Long Branch. The session will be held in the Community Meeting Rooms on the ground floor of the Community Wing. Parking is available in the parking garage.
