Beach Safety Workshops Held During National Beach Safety Week

LONG BRANCH, NJ – In recognition of National Beach Safety Week, The Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center partnered with the local lifeguard association to offer workshops to help area school children learn how to stay safe at the beach this summer.

Led by officials from the Monmouth County Chapter of the United States Lifesaving Association, the beach safety workshops held June 2 to 8 focused on beach hazards like rip currents, tide changes and sand bars. Beach safety kits were distributed courtesy of The Children's Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center. Presentations were held at schools in Asbury Park, Long Branch and Neptune in June.
