Namee L Namee's Pink Crusader Patient Story

“Although breast cancer may strike older women at far greater numbers, younger women cannot be complacent.”

At 26 years old, Namee Lee dedicated her life to helping others as a nurse in a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit of a hospital. She took care of herself, was in good shape and exercised regularly. While working out one day, she felt an unusual discomfort in her breast. It did not feel like the usual muscle pain you have from working out. She felt around the area and found a lump. Although there was no family history of breast cancer, she immediately contacted her physician who sent her for testing.

Namee Lee was diagnosed with stage 2B breast cancer. The day after Christmas, she began chemotherapy. Once treatment was complete, she had her surgery, which will be followed by radiation therapy and reconstruction. Namee is vocal about her cancer so that others realize cancer does not have an age limit. Her advice: Know your body and follow up when there are changes.
