Dear Friends:

Emergency Department staff

While emergencies are never planned, it is important to be prepared in case one should occur. At Saint Barnabas Medical Center, we understand that people want state-of-the-art emergency care in a safe, comforting setting. Our Emergency Department is staffed by full-time board certified physicians, including pediatric emergency medicine specialists, emergency and critical care nurses and others, who are ready to treat your family as if it were their own.

The Emergency Department at Saint Barnabas Medical Center is one of the busiest emergency care facilities in New Jersey, treating an average of 245 patients a day and nearly 90,000 patients annually, 28,000 of whom are children.

As the vital link between the sick or injured and the Medical Center, the Emergency Department provides critical support for specialty programs at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, including The HEART HOSPITAL of New Jersey, the state’s only certified Burn Center, and our Valerie Fund Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

In accordance with the finest emergency centers in the nation, Saint Barnabas Medical Center has specific service areas for Triage, Pediatric Care, Critical Care, Adult Medical/Surgical and Urgent Care, ensuring focused and dedicated staff, equipment and facilities.
