Welcome to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (formerly Saint Barnabas Medical Center)! The birth of a baby is one of life’s precious moments. At Cooperman Barnabas, our goal is to provide you and your family with an exceptional hospital experience in a nurturing, comfortable environment.

Our Obstetrical Service is one of the largest in Northern New Jersey. Our highly trained physicians and the dedication and excellence of our nursing and support staff, combined with sophisticated technology, allow us to provide the highest quality of care to our patients. As a high-risk obstetrical referral service, the department offers all the facilities necessary for the care of both mother and baby.

mother and childOur comprehensive Pediatrics Department includes state-of-the-art Shyan Sun, M.D. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for babies requiring intensive care due to prematurity or other medical or surgical procedures. Our Women’s Health Education Department includes a wide range of parent education programs to support you before and after your baby arrives.

Free Maternity Orientation and Tour

Delivering at CBMC? Our Woman’s Health Education Department hosts an informative tour to help you prepare for your special delivery. This hour-long group tour walks you through the arrival process, our newly-renovated Labor and Delivery suites, private post-partum rooms and more. In order to provide you with a personalized experience, class size is limited. Online reservations are required.

Prenatal Health Center

Pregnant WomanThe Prenatal Health Center provides maternity care for normal and high-risk pregnancies. Prenatal care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, obstetrical residents, nurses, nutritionists and social workers.

Services include the following:

  • Nutritional and social service counseling
  • Prenatal education
  • Prepared childbirth
  • Breastfeeding
  • Infant care classes

Level II ultrasound and lab testing facilities are available for routine and high-risk pregnancies. The WIC (Women/Infants/Children) Nutrition Supplementary Program is also available.
